Powis Parker Releases
The new Powis Parker Fastback CP strip has a strip of center glue that is formulated for extremely aggressive adhesion. The Fastback CP strip works well with split sheets and coated paper but also creates a strong bind with smooth paper without using the Powis Edge splitter which is part of their high end photobook production cell. However, to obtain this strong bind the CP strip requires extra binding time (approximately 45 seconds).
The center adhesive on the new Fastback CP strips is thicker than the center adhesive on Fastback Super Strips. According to Powis Parker this has two primary benefits: First, pages bound with the Fastback CP Strip are not allowed to completely lay-flat creating a more sophisticated, signature look for the finished presentations. Second, the thicker glue of the Fastback CP Strip helps to protect the binding edge from the flex stress of page turning.
Although these new Fastback CP strips are effective in binding many types of paper that have proven difficult to bind in the past it is important to understand that the CP strip by itself does not solve the problems with binding glossy coated stocks and digital output. Additionally, the extended bind time and extra heat required by the new Fastback CP strips can sometimes cause printing along the binding edge to bleed. Thus, these strips are not recommended for prints with full bleeds that run to the binding edge of the document. Still, the best way to know if these new strips will work for your application is to simply have us bind a sample for you and see the results for yourself.
Frye Boots Available as Western, Riding or Casual Styles
The styles of Frye Boots include products designed as traditional riding boots. These are made using genuine leather to creat the boots with low heels placed on their bottoms. These boots are different from the styles created as western boots, which are also available in this line of products. The women’s western boots are made with the classic pointed toe and one inch heel. These items are also made using genuine leather with some styles having hand tooled designs placed on their surfaces. Western boots are traditionally made as pull-on styles with finger tabs placed along the sides of the top collar.
The Frye Boots designed as casual styles for women are made using both smooth and suede grains of leather. These products range in height, with most of them made as knee high styles, but there are some mid-calf and ankle boots available as well. Some of the casual models incorporate straps into the design of the boot. These straps are both decorative and functional because they allow the sides to be adjusted to fit the woman’s leg. The straps placed across the top ankle area are purely decorative and cannot be adjusted.
People interested in seeing the products available in the line of Frye Boots, will find many different styles made for men. These also include both western and riding boots as well as casual styles. The men’s casual boots are designed to come slightly above the ankle with some styles designed as dress boots and others made for work purposes. The work boots have lace-up fronts and rugged soles made with deep treads. There are a few casual styles made with decorative strap and buckle accents, which have zippers on the sides for getting the boot on and off. All of the men’s products are made with genuine leather in assorted colors.
Pop Star Keeps Gettin’ Better
She was one of the Mickey Mouse Club’s most prominent members to go solo in the late ‘90s (alongside Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez and Britney Spears,) and Christina Aguilera is still going strong 15 years later, long after some of her mice counterparts have faded into the background of pop music. It seems as if Christina Aguilera is right on target – literally. Pop music’s finest has gone from a “genie in a bottle” to “dirrty,” “beautiful” and “stripped,” and now Aguilera is out to please her most genuine fans by releasing all of those phases on a greatest hits compilation, Keeps Gettin’ Better – A Decade of Hits. The only twist? This album will be available exclusively at Target stores and online.
In order to recollect the past decade of Aguilera’s success, the pop star has included 10 of her most popular hits on the album including “Come on Over,” “What a Girl Wants” and “Lady Marmalade,” along with two new singles and two more re-recordings of Christina Aguilera classics “Genie in a Bottle” and “Beautiful.” Aguilera’s choice to solely release her music to Target puts her among the ranks of other popular artists such as Alicia Keys, Carrie Underwood, the Jonas Brothers and John Legend, who have all started the trend of releasing music exclusively to the everything store with the red-and-white bulls eye.
